Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba: Film's 30 Hottest Lingerie ... - Celebuzz

Whether they’re changing into something skimpy as a sexy double agent or stripping down as an exotic dancer, the big screen’s hottest stars often end up in their skivvies.

From Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron to America’s sweethearts Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba, many celebs have bared (almost) all in frilly corsets and lacy bras.

As a salute to these, um, courageous souls, Celebuzz is taking a look at film’s 30 hottest lingerie scenes from the past three decades.

Launch the gallery to see if your favorite underwear-clad celeb made the cut.

It’s not just the ladies who are stripping down.

This year’s Magic Mike â€" a flick based loosely on Channing Tatum‘s real-life past as a male stripper â€" proved that Hollywood’s hunks can look just as good in a barely-there thong.

“I have so much more respect for women and what they have to go through,” Joe Manganiello, one of Magic Mike‘s many sexy male stars, told Celebuzz about how he felt slipping into a thong for the movie. “I never want to see a pair of damn thongs again!”

“If you’re asking if I took my thongs home: No way!”

WATCH: Jennifer Aniston sports baby bump, curly hair in new spoof - New York Post

Jennifer Aniston sports a baby bump and dark curly in a spoof viral video poking fun at the tabloid obsession over her private life

The actress, whose “baby bump” is regularly speculated on by the celebrity weeklies, appears in the video - directed by Alek Keshishian â€" heavily pregnant with triplets while strolling around her California home.

After footage Aniston’s security cameras in her home are “leaked”, Aniston is shown driving her Mercedes erratically, hiding her baby bump from the world with a girdle, and taking off the shape wear to release the huge bump while at home.

She also makes fun of her perfect Hollywood image by being shown removing a blonde straight wigs in the style of her trademark layered ‘do at the end of the day, exposing unkempt black curly hair.

Late night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel also makes a cameo in the video as Aniston’s childlike adult son, who has an alien best buddy in the video. “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest also makes an appearance.

Jennifer Aniston in Smartwater ad

It's official: Jennifer Aniston is a mother-to-be â€" in a funny new commercial.

"How are my little triplets doing?" she asks her enormous baby bump, which is exposed for the entire world to see in a brand new â€" and very satirical â€" commercial for Glaceau Smartwater, for which the actress, 43, has been a paid pitchwoman since 2007.

The 2½-minute ad, introduced by Ryan Seacrest, pretends to be a leaked home-security tape.

What's revealed around Aniston's backyard pool, which is being filled with bottles of Smartwater by some hunky pool-boys, is her grown son, played by Jimmy Kimmel.

"Go upstairs and take a nap," Aniston tells the man-boy, right before his space-alien sibling comes out to join him.

But wait, there's more. The truth about Aniston's enviable hair? Well, watch the video below and see.

Jennifer Aniston Shows Off Baby Bump In Spoof Video For Smartwater [VIDEO] - International Business Times

Apparently, Jennifer Aniston has been fooling the media all along and already has two children, one of whom is funnyman Jimmy Kimmel.

Or at least she plays a mother in a spoof video she recently did with SmartWater, for which she is a spokesperson.

The 43-year old actress, who is engaged to actor Justin Theroux, mocks her celebrity status in the video, as she plays a mother who is pregnant with triplets.

Television producer Ryan Seacrest even makes a cameo, saying footage of Aniston's home security tapes have been leaked online.

At one point in the video, Aniston crashes her car, before coming back inside the house, acting nonchalant about the incident, and announces: "I forgot my SmartWater."

In another scene, she shows off her baby bump, stroking it as she says: "How are my little triplets doing? You must be so thirsty," before drinking the SmartWater.

At the end of the video, the product tagline "Even more refreshing than the truth" appears on the screen.

Although Aniston is not yet a mother in real life, her former step-dad John Melick told Celebuzz , "She wants to have kids real bad, and I think she'll love to be able to do that with [Justin]."

According to Aniston, however, kids may not be in her immediate future. Earlier this year, she told Spain's GQ magazine, "A perfect life? I think that's sort of cliché, isn't it? Like, if you want to be happy, you should have the house, the husband, the kid ... Kids are messy!"

Jennifer Aniston sports a new stomach in this new commercial. This look, while fake, is a far departure from her usual fit self.

Jennifer Aniston: Pregnant In "Stolen" Security Video! - The Hollywood Gossip

Jennifer Aniston is pregnant, for real!

Okay, she's really not. At all. But in this viral video ad for Smartwater, the celebrity gossip mainstay spoofs the constant speculation about that particular topic.

The star, who recently got engaged to Justin Theroux (seriously, that actually happened), can be seen sporting a HUGE baby bump in "stolen" security footage.

In the clip, introduced by Ryan Seacrest as if it were an actual breaking story, she also has an alien son, calls herself Rachel, crashes her car and more. Watch:

You may recall that the actress, who has endorsed the product for several years, starred in a similar viral ad last year entitled "Jennifer Aniston Sex Tape."

Like the baby bump, there wasn't one.

Who should host next year's Oscars? - Entertainment Weekly

The Oscars are like a fine red wine. They should get better with age. They should make you face-on-the-floor drunk with giddiness about the sheer glory and thrill of movies.

Unfortunately, the award show’s ratings have been as flat as an old gin and tonic these past several years, and the host/hosts haven’t helped. Anne Hathaway and James Franco, in an attempt to reach a younger audience, gave new meaning to the phrase “odd couple” as lackluster out-of-sync Oscar co-hosts in 2011, and Oscar vet Billy Crystal did his usual shtick, stepping in for Eddie Murphy as host of this past February’s telecast.

With the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on the brink of announcing a host for next year’s 85th annual Academy Awards, set to take place Feb. 28, 2013, and airing live on ABC, here are several of our picks for who should host. Jennifer Aniston, we’re looking at you!

Jimmy Fallon
Sure, Jimmy Fallon’s under the umbrella of ABC competitor NBC with Late Night, and yes, he told NBC’s Today show in August, “No, I’m not doing the Oscars. It’s an honor to be asked, but it’s not my year.” Eventually, though, Fallon should. He has the respectful silliness, perkiness, youthful appeal, musical chops and credibility with celebs to be a good Oscar host. He could sing and rap his way across a meandering telecast with the gusto of a Saturday Night Live alum used to live TV, flubs and spontaneity. He did a great job hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2010, and he hosted the teen-centric MTV Movie Awards and MTV Video Music Awards years earlier. If anyone can merge the old and the new of Hollywood, Fallon can.

Neil Patrick Harris
He can sing, he can dance, he can smirk, he can act, he can make fun of himself, and other celebrities, without skipping a beat. Neil Patrick Harris has the kind of swagger and sheen, plus a generations-wide following with starring roles in How I Met Your Mother and Doogie Howser, M.D., to give the Oscars some lightness to its gravitas. As host of the Tony Awards for the past three years, he also knows how to carry an awards show without falling under the weight of it, or looking like he doesn’t really care (James Franco, you’re guilty!). Any duets with his friend, and a frequent musical Oscar contributor, Elton John, could be grand.

Jennifer Aniston
Oh Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Aniston. It’s about time the bright-eyed actress, who has looks, brains and a nice new engagement ring on her finger, gets a real platform to strut her comedic stuff within a broad setting. She was a hit on Friends, but her movies have snaked up and down like a rollercoaster at the box office. If her new snarky, sassy commercial for Glaceau Smartwater is any indication, she can still crack a joke, at her own expense, with the best of them. We really do miss her Friends-era neurosis. She could add an element of spice to the telecast, and bring in a massive number of viewers. Would Brangelina feel uncomfortable? Perhaps.

Will Smith
If any A-list, Oscar nominated movie star could take the Academy Awards by storm with just a glimpse of his huge grin, it’s Will Smith. He’s handsome, popular, versatile, starring in dramas and comedies, and has the musicality of past Oscar hosts (there’s constant nostalgia for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). He also appeals to adults, both men and women, plus teens and kids. Case in point: He hosted this past year’s 25th annual Kids’ Choice Awards, getting submerged in green slime. Hosting the Oscars would be 20 steps up from that, and who wouldn’t like to see a little slime on those tuxes? He could be a fun, referential host, dressing up like his slick Agent J in Men In Black and its sequels.

Melissa McCarthy
With her tough, saucy breakout role in last year’s Bridesmaids earning her an Oscar nomination, and an Emmy win last year for Mike & Molly, plus Emmy nominations this year for both Mike & Molly and hosting Saturday Night Live, Melissa McCarthy is the wild card of the bunch. She’s an up-and-coming, hilarious, down-to-earth, beautiful actress, who also doesn’t look like a Barbie Doll. People can relate to her, and she’s not afraid to make a complete and utter fool of herself for the sake of laughs (see virtually any of her Bridesmaids scenes). Movie and TV audiences have fallen for her, adding up to a double whammy when it comes to viewership. She could add a much-needed spark and sense of newness to the Oscars.

Clef, L-Boogie & Other Heartbreaking Love Triangles (LIST) - Global Grind

They say that sex changes things, but for Wyclef and Lauryn Hill, it changed things so much that their multi-platinum group The Fugees paid the ultimate price.

VIDEO: Wyclef Comes Clean About His Affair With Lauryn Hill

Wyclef was in a love triangle with Lauryn Hill and his wife, meanwhile, Lauryn began dating Rohan Marley and as the "Gone Till November" singer put it, "If you're married and you're in a love triangle with a person in your group, it's only gonna last but so long. Something's gonna explode."

That's exactly what happened when Lauryn became pregnant. Clef was led to believe the baby was his, and when the baby turned out to be Rohan's, well, things just fell apart.

Clef admits that despite being married, he was jealous of Lauryn's new lover. He held on to his side of the story, finally exposing new details of this hip-hop love triangle in his book, Purpose: An Immigrant's Story, which hit stores today.

This got us to thinking about some of the most memorable love triangles in hip-pop. Take a look.

One of the most famous love triangles of all time took place when after 12 years of marriage, Woody Allen left Mia Farrow, for his own adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn, 21. The couple now has two adopted kids together and Mia was forced to move on.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were married for 5 years when he met Angelina Jolie during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Brad told Parade magazine, “I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony," Pitt tells Parade. "I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic," then added." "I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t."

Biggie and Faith Evans got married shortly after meeting one another, but things got ugly when she allegedly hooked up with Big's rival Tupac. She became the subject of a heated rap beef, after pictures of Faith and the L.A. rapper surfaced in hip-hop magazines. Biggie even rapped about his wife's affair on Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, saying, "If Fay have twins she'll probably have two pacs. Get it Tupac?"

Biggie was a playboy, because he also had a love triangle for his side chick position. Lil Kim played the part as his girl on the side, while Charli Baltimore moved in and quickly became Big's girl from Philly. She even played Faith in Biggie's "Get Money" video.

Diddy is the international playboy himself, and while he's remained single, he's left people guessing which one of his ladies he's actually with. There is the mother of his children, Kim Porter, who used to be a frequent guest of his to numerous red carpets and vacations.

Then there's Cassie, who also showed up on plenty of red carpets and vacations. Now it seems like Cassie is Diddy's official girl, but she's been around for a long time. We think.

Jesse James cheated on his Oscar award winning wife Sandra Bullock right as the couple was adopting a baby. Jesse left his wife for Kat Von D, but that failed quickly and now Sandra's enjoying raising her baby, and Jesse is doing him.

In 2006, Ryan Phillippe reportedly had an affair with Abbie Cornish while he was married to Reese Witherspoon. It didn’t help that in an interview in W Magazine in 2009, Abbie said that “love brought me here, not work” while filming in Australia for a movie that co-starred Ryan. The two reportedly dated until 2010, and Reese supported him through their breakup after their 4-year relationship, even though he cheated on her.

City High was a promising hip-hop group made up of Ryan Toby, Robbie Pardlo and Claudette Ortiz. Ironically, the trio met at Wyclef's studio and quickly rose to the top of the charts and even got a Grammy nomination. But things turned sour when Claudette left her boyfriend Robbie, for the other group member Ryan Toby. The switch broke Robbie's heart so much, that he turned into an alcoholic and was even featured on Intervention.

Unraveling the Red Carpet - Huffington Post

In the early 1990's, the red carpet was far from the international fashion frenzy it has become today. No one ever heard of paying a stylist to "place" a piece of jewelry on a celebrity client, and loaning jewelry to the stars, so common today, was nearly unheard of -- or at least not widely discussed. Borrowed jewelry is certainly not a new concept, but when it was done there was an element of hushed non-disclosure, if not secrecy, about who actually owned the jewels. Most assumed that the glamorous actress would of course own a glamorous necklace. Lucky you were if the star happened to own and wear a jewel you had sold them, or if you belonged to the small group of important jewelry houses that on occasion loaned to the stars of the silver screen.

In 1992, I received a telephone call which dramatically changed my life, personally and professionally. The president of Paramount Studios phoned to request a favor -- the loan of a diamond choker necklace and earrings to Sharon Stone for the premiere of Basic Instinct. My initial reaction was that it made no sense for me to take all the risk and receive no reward -- after all, how would anyone know the jewels came from Martin Katz, I asked. When we agreed that Sharon would also be wearing my jewelry for her national magazine covers, I loaned the jewels, and the rest, as they say, is history.

That moment and the decision to loan the jewels catapulted my company into an entirely new stratosphere and forever changed the red carpet. Stylists, PR agents, even the actresses themselves began calling to request similar arrangements. I was forced to hire publicists to deal with the flood of calls; jewelers from around the world offered me pieces for celebrities. I was even given scripts to be placed in the hands of my star clientele!

For many years, my company has been known as the "go-to" celebrity jeweler. Salma Hayek once phoned and asked me to come to her hotel room, demanding, "show me your jewels, Martin!" In 1998 I loaned more than $20 million in jewels to at least 35 stars through the awards season. The roster included Nicole Kidman, Angelica Huston, Madonna, Kate Winslet, Minnie Driver, Ashley Judd, Helen Hunt, Demi Moore and Cindy Crawford. Then came Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Minnie Driver, and the list goes on. To date, I have bejeweled more than 500 different celebrities and luminaries.

Even with tight security on the red carpet, there is always a concern when so many jewels are on loan -- until they are safely returned to the company vault. Most of the stars to whom I have loaned are appreciative and respectful of the high values. Rarely have there been any issues... but I do recall an incident at the 1998 Oscars, when Minnie Driver's ruby bead bracelet become snagged and broke, and two dozen rubies and diamonds went flying. Minnie was immediately on her hands and knees, assisted by the director James Cameron, gathering-up the diamonds and ruby beads. Fortunately, each was found and after a secure restringing, all was at peace and in one piece back at my boutique.

The media has become the driving factor in the loaning game at award shows. Over the years, reporters from most all of the major fashion and celebrity magazines, such as W, People, InStyle, Vogue and The Hollywood Reporter and more have written stories about my relationship with the celebrity community, which became a virtual blueprint for all who chase the red carpet. I was dubbed "Tinseltown's Gemfather" (not my favorite) by Los Angeles Magazine and also placed on the cover of Luxe magazine, captioned "The Secret of Hollywood Success." Hyperbole aside, I value and enjoy my association with an industry that continues to fascinate and attract us all.

Fast-forward two decades from first meeting Sharon Stone -- I still adorn many of the same stars, as well as a host of new ones, however the landscape has completely changed. The paparazzi culture and immediacy of our news cycle has made it even more valuable for jewelers and fashion brands to vie for placement on the red carpet. In today's marketplace, brands both large and small must compete for media attention to reinforce their own relevance and name recognition.

For independent jewelers like myself, it has become more difficult to compete with the behemoths that are willing to spend hundreds of thousands, even millions for celebrity placements -- a mere drop in the bucket in their ad and PR budgets. And the competition is sometimes cutthroat. Last year, a favorite actress was lured away from us when one of the big jewelry houses gave her and her stylist costly watches as gifts, a practice I have always avoided. Another nominee, who was 'in love' with a unique pair of sapphire earrings I designed, was informed that her dress designer had a deal with a different jewelry house which specifically forbade her from wearing my jewelry with the dress. She protested, but it was the day before the awards, and too late to find another gown. For me, however, I take great pride in knowing that celebrities who wear my designs do so without enticements. I have now tightened the circle of those invited to wear my jewels; they tend to be friends or true fans and when they wear my pieces, it is a mutual adoration, and clearly apparent in every photo.

Jennifer Aniston Pregnant With Triplets In New Smartwater Commercial (VIDEO) - Huffington Post

Jennifer Aniston Pregnant Smartwater

Jennifer Aniston is pregnant -- and with triplets no less.

The 43-year-old actress revealed a huge baby bump in her new ad for Smartwater. The commercial pokes fun at Aniston's mega-celebrity status and features Ryan Seacrest presenting a faux news report, where he reveals Aniston's home security tapes, which have been leaked by an unknown source -- and the footage reveals the star's biggest secrets.

The "leaked" tapes show the recently engaged actress crashing her new car in her garage and then brushing off the accident and chalking it up to the fact that she forgot to drink her Smartwater.

Next, Aniston is seen back in the kitchen where the camera catches her removing a giant band around her waist, designed to hide her growing belly.

"How are my little triplets doing? You must be so thirsty," she says as she rubs her faux baby bump, which if it were real would have tabloid editors squealing with glee.

The rest of the ad is just as silly. Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel makes an appearance as Aniston's adult son, who accuses her of being ashamed of him and his brother -- an alien -- and is made to go back in the house before someone sees them.

More of Aniston's "secrets" are revealed before the product's tagline flashes onscreen: "Even more refreshing than the truth."

Aniston first signed on as a spokeswoman for Smartwater in 2010, and has used the commercials as a platform to show that she doesn't take herself too seriously. In 2011, the company released an ad that went viral, which featured Aniston alongside some of the most popular viral video tropes and memes.

Jennifer Aniston is pregnant!...(Sort of) - heatworld

Jennifer Aniston has shocked the world by presenting us with a baby bump!

In an advert for Smart Water, 43-year-old Jen can be seen guzzling down her beloved water as she strokes her pregnant belly.

Here's the bad news though... it's a fake belly.

The advert starts with Ryan Seacrest presenting a fake news report, saying Jen's home security tapes have been leaked online by an unknown source.

The security tapes show the Friends star coming in from a hard day of being a celebrity and pulling off a band, designed to hide her blossoming bump.

But who's the father?!

But that's not the half of it - the security videos show Jen with two sons!

Has Jen been hiding a secret family from us all this time?

Stroking her pregnant belly, Jen says: "How are my little triplets doing? You must be so thirsty."

After giving us the shock of our lives, she then heads outside to her swimming pool where men are filling it with Smart Water.

Nothing but the best for our Jen, eh?

Jennifer Aniston's Wedding Is Sounding So Angelina Jolie - The Stir

jennifer anistonWhat, with all this Kate Middleton sunbathing topless business going on, you probably forgot all about Jennifer Aniston's upcoming nuptials to Justin Theroux. Real nice, guys, real nice. Ah, don't worry about it. I'm here to fill you in on all the latest details that are definitely/maybe/probably/probably not true -- and how these true/not true details are so Angelina Jolie.

A private safari in the African country with an informal blessing? Wouldn't have pegged that to be Jen's style.

According to the tabloids, Jen and Justin have decided upon a wedding in Kenya the first week of December (of this year, you guys). The couple have reportedly planned to tie the knot in the midst of a nine-night African safari and will have a more formal ceremony, with friends and family, back in Los Angeles some time later on. An "insider" stated: "Both Jen and Justin want a private and intimate wedding, and they love the idea of eloping and marrying abroad. Kenya will be an amazingly romantic break and the plan is to have some kind of informal blessing while out there. They may well undergo something more formal in Los Angeles immediately afterwards." Yes, that is exactly what I just said, but in quote-form.

An informal Kenyan getaway, and safari to boot? Sounds gorgeous to me. But also sounds the teensiest bit reminiscent of something Angelina Jolie would do, no? Or maybe I've just read too many reports on their "dueling nuptials" and have been mindlessly swayed into thinking that, for the rest of her life, anything Jennifer Aniston does, she will always been "copying" Angelina Jolie.

Whatever. I'm sure both weddings will be beautiful and amazing and all the things 1-percenter dreams are made of. Congrats, ladies. Congrats to the both of you. And remember -- last one to the altar is a rotten egg!

What do you think of this?

She plays Grace Devlin, a gifted surgeon who -- thanks to an idiot brother -- finds herself indebted to the mafia on "The Mob Doctor." Dear brother got himself into some trouble with a gambling debt, and so his sister agreed to owe mobster Paul Moretti. This usually meant patching up his cronies, but he upped the ante in the series premiere, asking Grace to kill a patient on the operating table.

When she didn't go through with it, Moretti took her mother hostage in her home. Grace managed to lure him away by smashing up his car. One wild car chase later and they were at her old family friend Constantine Alexander's (William Forsythe) house. Constantine was formerly mob, but had since gone straight.

At least, that's what Grace thought. So she was completely stunned when Constantine shot Moretti dead. Later, he told her that he was basically now back in and back in charge. He gave her the option to pack it up and skip town or she could stay and her debt to Moretti would now be his.

She chose the latter, and the ongoing premise of the show was established. There was plenty of the more general types of dramatics at the hospital viewers are used to from other medical shows. What will make it different is how the two worlds interact, and how Grace tries to juggle them.

Spiro promises the show will only get more exciting from here, but some critics are already looking ready to tune out. said it was "already flatlining" in their headline, going on to say that Grace's strict moral code gets pretty grating pretty quick. EW didn't like it much better, though they did come up with ways it could have been worse. Of Spiro's casting, they wrote, " It’s sort of like mashing Meredith Grey and Walter White into one horrible Frankenstein’s Monster character, and then casting Jennifer Aniston."

Hollywood Couple News: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux To Marry In ... - San Francisco Luxury News

“Friends” actress, Jennifer Aniston, and fiancé Justin Theroux are reportedly planning to get married in Kenya on December.
Just weeks after ex-husband Brad Pitt and his long-time partner Angelina Jolie confirmed their engagement, Jennifer Aniston has announced that she too would be tying the knot with her actor-screenwriter boyfriend Justin Theroux. Since the date has not been set yet on the Jolie-Pitt nuptials, Aniston and Theroux are obviously wasting no time in putting a seal on their relationship.
According to reports, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have planned a private 9-nights safari in the African country for the first week of December where the engaged couple will have an informal blessing. Afterwards, they will also receive a formal ceremony in Los Angeles upon their return from the trip. Justin Theroux is claimed to be keen on having the formal ceremony back in Hollywood but the Jennifer Aniston is said to be the one who wants to elope.
“Both Jen and Justin want a private and intimate wedding and they love the idea of eloping and marrying abroad. Kenya will be an amazingly romantic break and the plan is to have some kind of informal blessing while out there. They may well undergo something more formal in Los Angeles immediately afterwards,” a source revealed.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror newspaper also claimed that the couple will leave Los Angeles on November 30 as they head for Kenya by travelling on their own jet.
On the other hand, the reconciliation of the 43-year old actress with her mother, Nancy, after several years of disagreement could cause problems since Aniston’s mother wants to attend the wedding of her daughter. Unfortunately, Nancy is not well enough to travel after she suffered stroke last year.
“Now that Nancy and Jen have fixed their relationship, Nancy desperately wants to see her daughter getting married. Sadly she had a major stroke last year and can’t travel if they do elope. Basically Jen has to choose between her mum and her dream wedding,” the source further revealed.

How Not to Appreciate Your Employees - NBC Chicago (blog)

Over the weekend, I saw "Horrible Bosses." Have you seen it? It’s the movie with Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman and a bunch of other recognizable names who were tricked into being in a horrible movie about employees who want to kill their bosses for a variety of reasons. The reasons are all really the same: They are being verbally abused and regularly manipulated into working long hours and, in general, are just being disrespected by their bosses.

I shut the movie off about 20 minutes in. (Yes, it’s that bad.) But it raises a good point: If this is an exploration of what happens when employees are mistreated, what are the best ways of treating them well?

The quickest Band-Aid to slap is an employee recognition program, whether it’s one of those employee-of-the-month walls or -- wait, what else can you do?

Glad you asked. The Nashville Business Journal recently scooped out a handy, quick list of 10 photos with captions to illustrate a couple of great ways to help your worker bees feel less like they’re in a hive and more like they’re flying high. Give them the ability to have a flexible schedule, providing free food occasionally and periodically bringing in a massage therapist to help everyone work out their kinks are all on this list, and rather than just swiping these handful and incorporating them at your business, really ponder it. Meditate on what will actually make an impact in helping your workers feel more at home when they’re at work. Startups are famous/infamous for their kooky perks, so don’t be afraid to experiment, within reason.

Whatever you do, though, read this list from TLNT about two egregiously horrible ways businesses attempted to honor their own. One of the examples chronicles a company that suddenly got a big signing bonus. It decided to distribute the extra money to the people int he company who deserved it the most. How did they decide this? By asking people “to complete forms themselves explaining why [they] thought he or she deserved to receive a piece of the award.”

Bad idea. Everyone thinks they deserve extra money, and if you disagree with any of them, you risk alienate them. Scratch that. You will alienate them.

Hop on over to TLNT to read the other example, which is a real hoot. In a sad way.
